Millennium Stadium The Millennium Stadium is Cardiff’s most famous landmark. In its relatively short lifetime it has achieved iconic status and is recognisable to most sports fans around the world. Built in 1999, it is the national stadium of Wales home of the Wales national rugby union team and the Wales national football team and also host to many other large scale events, such as Wales Rally Great Britain stage of the World Rally Championship, Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain, boxing and many music concerts.
Cardiff Bay Cardiff Docks as it was then called was the world's largest coal exporting port it is also Europe's largest waterfront development and it has a wealth of leisure activities available both on and off the water.
Cardiff bay has been turned into a vast freshwater lake with the introduction of a barrage. A number of boat tours operate from Mermaid Quay, which allow you to gain an understanding of the history and fauna of this exciting area. A new water taxi service which operates throughout the year from the Bay to the city centre and Penarth.
Cardiff Castle Cardiff Castle is one of Wales' leading heritage attractions and a site of international significance. During 2000 years of history, the Castle has been a Roman Garrison, a Norman stronghold and in Victorian times was transformed into a gothic fairytale fantasy. There are special events throughout the year; from midsummer evenings with Shakespeare, a Medieval Mêlée at the height of the summer to an evocative Victorian Christmas. There are also musical performances, lectures on art and architecture, hands-on craft activities for children and medieval jousting
SWALEC Stadium

Glamorgan have played at Sophia Gardens (now the SWALEC Stadium) since 1967 having previously staged games in the Welsh capital at Cardiff Arms Park. The development of the Welsh National Stadium - now the Millennium Stadium - led to the transfer of the cricket ground into the recreation ground, north of Sophia Gardens at the end of the 1966 season.
National Museum National Museum Cardiff is a museum and art gallery in Cardiff, Wales. It is part of the Edwardian civic complex of Cathays Park, which includes the City Hall, Law Courts, Cardiff University and Cathays Park Building, which is a Welsh Assembly building and the former Welsh Office building.
The National Museum was designed by architects Arnold Dunbar Smith & Cecil Brewer. Its foundation stone was laid in 1912 but construction was delayed by the First World War and the National Museum was not open to the public until 1927, with some parts of the building being completed in 1932.
The museum is part of the wider network of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales (formerly the National Museums and Galleries of Wales). During 2007, National Museum Wales celebrated its centenary. At this time there are a number of building works taking place to help restore the roof to the east wing of the museum. A series of special events are planned during the course of the year.

Llandaff Cathedral The Cathedral Church of SS Peter & Paul, Dyfrig, Teilo and Euddogwy is the mother church of the Diocese of Llandaff and is the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff. The Diocese, one of the six dioceses comprising the Province of The Church in Wales, covers the general area of South Wales bounded by Cardiff in the South East to Neath in the South West, the Heads of the Valleys to the North and Rhymney Valley to the East.

Cardiff City Hall

Cardiff Bay Barrage Cardiff Bay is a sheltered freshwater bay covering about 200 hectares on the Bristol Channel at the mouths of the Rivers Taff and Ely.
The Cardiff Bay Barrage itself is 1.1km long and extends from Cardiff docks in the north to Penarth in the south. This major civil engineering construction project subsequently led to the impoundment of the bay that has over 13km of waterfront.
Flat Holm Island Just 5 miles from Cardiff and Barry, the tiny island of Flat Holm is a different world with a wealth of history and wildlife. You will be amazed at how much there is to discover.
Since the Dark Ages, Flat Holm has been a retreat for monks and since then has acted as a sanctuary for Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, silver miners, smugglers and cholera victims. Fortified in Victorian times and again in World War II it is perhaps most famous for receiving the first ever radio message across water by Marconi in 1897.

Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre Known locally as the Tube this major attraction with panoramic views across the Bay provides visitor information, and houses exhibitions along with a unique scale model of the Bay.
All vistors, from local residents, and day tripers, to international groups come into the Tube. Inside they can watch films about the City of Cardiff, and see the variety of exhibitions on display. From the interactive display on the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, to Baywatch, our enviromental exhibition. People of all ages can enter the Visitor's Centre free of charge.
Pit Ponies Sanctuary For centuries Fforest Uchaf Farm has nestled quietly on its lofty perch on the mountainside above Treforest and watched the world go by. Separated from the University of Glamorgan campus by a thin ribbon of private woodlands that are the remains of the ancient Forest of Glyn Taf, which once covered a huge area. A rich and diverse wildlife hustle and bustle their lives away unaffected by the rat race, or industrial and technological revolutions that happened in the valley.
Nowadays the Farm is a working small holding and home to the Fforest Uchaf Horse and Pony Rehabilitation Centre, a registered charity in Wales, providing tender loving care for horses and ponies in need. The Centre has ponies of all shapes and sizes; many came from a background of misery and mistreatment. However, the life on the high pastures soon has their physical condition improved.
Welsh Institute for sport Sophia Gardens The Welsh Institute of Sport is simply Wales' largest and most well equipped sporting venue for training and events. As a centre of excellence, it has the range of facilities and back up services to cater for a wide range variety of sports and events.
